Low-Carbon Energy Specialist Strengthens Sales Team

LowC Communities Ltd, the Lincolnshire-based low-carbon energy specialist, has appointed renewable energy expert Doug Chaplin to head up its sales and marketing activities.

Chaplin, formerly with Aquafuel Research Ltd, brings a wealth of experience to LowC, at a time when interest in its innovative renewable energy technologies is at an all-time high.

Richard Griffin, the company’s chief executive, commented: “We are really lucky to have secured the services of Doug and his enviable range of skills and experience in our sector. His background in agrochemicals, the international chemicals sector and commodity trading gives him a great perspective on biofuels – covering all aspects of the business – from ‘field to tank’.”

“Despite the economic downturn, we are in the fortunate position to be one of the few companies that’s seeing significant levels of growth as more and more organisations embrace the concept of lowering both their carbon emissions and operating costs.

“Doug will play a key role in managing this expansion and we are pleased to welcome him to our business - particularly at a time when we are launching our new, wood-powered renewable energy system that generates low-carbon electricity, heating and hot water.”

The system, called Arbor ElectroGen, looks set to revolutionise the provision of renewable energy throughout the UK and Ireland and make a strong contribution towards the UK Government’s targets for the year 2020 - where they plan to cut carbon emissions by 34% and have the country deriving 15% of its total energy from renewable sources.

This new technology joins the company’s existing Agri ElectroGen system that generates ‘green’ heat and power from locally-grown rapeseed oil – something that has been put to effective use at an increasing number of buildings throughout the UK.
